How Do I Use The Litigation Threat Report?
In Insights, there is the option of using the Litigation Threat report which will help you identify litigious companies and the patents being asserted.
For R&D into new products or existing products, companies that are litigious in the core areas you are in, pose a threat to your organization. This report helps you get answers on "Who are litigious in your field?", "Which patents are being asserted"? and "How are the cases being resolved?" We currently have this for US/CN/TW/GB/JP litigation cases.
To access this, choose the "Litigation Threat" option on the reports list:
Once you have selected this option you will be able to create a litigation threat report where you can use keywords, a search query or add a Workspace to be able to create the report. You can also see a more detailed description of what the report is used for here. Once you have made your selection, you will see a screen that looks like this:
Once happy with your selection, click on the "Create Report" option. From here you will come to this screen:
Using the options on the top-right corner of this screen you can edit report settings, export graphs, share and delete the report.
You are also able to add a filter, view the total number of cases, view the average duration of the cases (US cases only), see how many patents are involved and also see how many different plaintiffs and defendants there are for the cases.
You can also view graphs on this page, those being the "Basic of Termination" graph and the "Litigation Trend" graph, as shown above, the "Most Asserted Patents" graph and the "Most Litigious Companies" graph, as shown in the image below and the "Key Concepts" graph as shown below the other image:
You can also access this report via the Technology Key Report.
