Q. What is Hiro LS and what capabilities does it provide?

A. Hiro LS in Synapse has been upgraded to support Chat functionality (Hiro LS) where you can ask any question related to life sciences. For example, "Describe the mechanism of action of siRNA drugs" and "What does the landscape of HER3 look like?". With Hiro LS, you can search, summarize, and analyze.

Q. How can I access Hiro LS?

A. You can access Hiro LS in 4 ways:

1. Via Hiro by clicking on the icon to expand to a full-screen view
2. On the Synapse homepage by clicking on "Chat"
3. Selecting any piece of text and clicking "Start Chat" to ask a question about it
4. Via the following website link: https://hiro-ls-patsnap-com.sutd.idm.oclc.org/chat 

Q. Is there a usage limit?

A. Freemium users: 10 calls/Day
     Premium users: Unlimited (rate limit of 50 calls/3 hours)​

Q. What happens when I hit the limit?​

A. Once you have hit the limitations, there will be an Upgrade prompt.

Q. Do I get access to Hiro LS Premium if I am a Synapse Premium user?

A. All Synapse Premium users are on the Synapse Chat Freemium plan – you must upgrade to Premium if you want unlimited chat functionality.

Q. What powers Hiro LS?

A. Synapse chat is fully powered by PharmaGPT.

Q. What is PharmaGPT?

A. PharmaGPT is a suite of multilingual large language models (LLMs) specifically designed for the biopharmaceutical and chemical sectors. PharmaGPT is trained on a broad range of life sciences data making it deeply familiar with the nuances, terminology, and context of the life sciences domain. More information can be found here.

Q. Does Hiro LS use my questions to train data?

A. Synapse Chat does not retain data to train PharmaGPT.

Q. How do we maintain the data to keep our models up to date?

A. We utilize Retrieval-augmented Generation (RAG) in our model, enabling it to retrieve data from sources such as Synapse or the Internet. This ensures that the answers provided are based on the most up-to-date information available.

Our Large Language Model (LLM) undergoes regular upgrades to stay aligned with technological advancements worldwide. We continuously adapt to and integrate new technologies to ensure optimal performance.
