Expert Search

Expert search is a tool that allows users to create search queries by combining and editing queries together. Allowing users to more efficiently create complex queries. 

Key Features 

Projects

• In Expert search users can create up to 40 projects to help manage their work
• Users can create projects by clicking on the "+" icon in the top right-hand corner, and can display up to 10 projects at one time

• Users can manage their projects by clicking on the three dots icon in the top right-hand corner, which will take them to project management

Historic queries 

• Users can insert previous queries and saved queries into the search box by clicking "Historic queries" in the bottom left-hand corner 

Helper tool 

• Users also have access to the helper tool which can help users identify keywords, classification codes, subsidiary companies, application domains, and more 

Search Shortcuts 

• Users can click on these search field shortcuts to instantly add these search fields, operators, and syntax to the search box without manually needing to type them

Field and operators 

• The "field & operators" button makes a pop-up appear, where users can click on fields and syntax to quickly add fields to the search box 
• Search helper pop-up window can be dragged, zoomed in and out, can be closed
• Users can search for specific fields with the search bar in the top right hand corner 
• Users can see the different search field categories by clicking the small circles on the left hand side of the search helper   

Submit queries

• Users can also submit queries by typing a query in the search box and then pressing the Enter key
  • Additionally, users can click the "Submit Query" icon in the bottom right of the page

• By submitting a query users will save the query to the top of the page where users can:
  • View how many results it produces
  • Users can click "view" to take users to the search results page for that specific query
  • Users can edit the query  
  • Users can delete the query
  • Users can comment on the query  
• Additionally, users can click on their submit queries, which will paste these queries into their search box, making combing queries quick and simple 

Comments

• Users can leave comments on submitted queries, which will appear below the query 
• Users can delete comments by hovering over the comment and clicking the x icon 

Exporting projects 

• User can export their projects by clicking the export icon next to the project title 

• This will allow users to download an Excel spreadsheet where they can see their submitted queries, the number of results they have, and any comments made
