What is the Standardized Assignee Type?

Depending on your search, as an example, you might want to look for records owned only by banks or companies, instead of individuals. These standardized assignee types are listed into the following categories:

• Company - Assignees that are registered companies (eg: PFIZER).
• Person - Assignees which are a person that submitted it as themselves (eg: STEVE JOBS).
• Academy - Assignees that are under an education group (eg: UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL).
• Government - Assignees that are Government related (eg: US DEPT OF HEALTH).
• Bank - Assignees that operate as banking institutions  (eg: Scotiabank).
• Other - Assignees that do not fit in any of the criteria above or they have multiple assignees such as a University with multiple people who are listed as the Assignee.
