Analysis View is a powerful tool that helps you quickly visualize key trends in your search results. With just one click, it transforms raw search data into interactive charts and visual insights, allowing you to analyze:

This feature makes it easy to spot patterns and gain a deeper understanding of your patent search results.

 

How to Access Analysis View

  1. Perform a search as usual.
  2. At the top of the search result page, locate the toolbar.
  3. Click on the last icon in the list (represented by a column bar chart).
  4. When you hover over it, you will see the label ‘Analysis View’
  5. Click to open the Analysis View and explore the insights instantly.

Application count over time

This visual depicts patent filing trends, with grants reflecting filing efficiency and success rate. Note: there is often a time lag between the application and publication of patents, typically spanning 18 months. As a result, the latest developments may not be displayed.

 

 

Top assignees

Indicates the key applicants within the selected records, while also highlighting their proportionate share of the records in the chosen dataset. Note: For applicants, it signifies their concentration among all records, while for inventors, it represents their concentration within their respective organizations.

Legal statuses

Indicates the current legal status of the selected patent. For example, the greater the proportion of patents in trial status, the more innovative the company has become in the recent past.

Trending technical topics

This analysis extracts keywords from the selected records, providing insights into their popular technical subject matters. Note: A single record may correspond to multiple technical themes, resulting in a higher frequency of technical themes compared to the number of records.

Global Patent Filing Distribution

Analyzing in which countries/reasons the technology is mainly located, the number of patent applications filed reflects to some extent the level of interest in that target market. This can help companies assess which are the main countries/regions to focus on when making a strategic technology placement.

Top inventors

This provides an overview of the inventors within the dataset, as well as the specific technical subjects they specialize in. Note: Each record may have multiple inventors, and each record may correspond to various technical topics. Therefore, the number of inventors and the frequency of technical topics may exceed the number of records.
